What Would A Democrat Socialized Medicine Plan Cost?

Obamacare is imploding. That is no surprise to anybody who knew what the plan was intended to do. Obamacare was designed to fail. The democrat plan, however, was for failure to happen when they were in charge of the federal government.

For the sake of analysis, let’s pretend that Hillary won the election and became president, along with democrats taking back both houses of Congress. Obamacare would collapse as planned. Nothing can stop this horrendous law from failing. Hillary would go to a socialized, government bureaucrat controlled, single payer system, fulfilling the progressive democrats’ utopian dream. So, how much would it cost?

We are fortunate to have a recent example from democrats in California (Senate Bill 562) from which to answer that question.

California has an annual state budget of approximately $180B. Assuming that the politicians pushing the bill did their analysis correctly, which is a huge assumption, the recent single payer bill pushed by democrats would cost $400B/year.

According to those same politicians, Californians spend $200B/year on healthcare already, so if the government took all of that money, it would still need $220B/year to pay for the socialize medical plan, more than double their current annual budget.

California, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis is 14.1% of the total US GDP. Using California’s GDP to scale up the plan to the United States, the full cost of such a democrat plan would equal $1.418T/year.

Yes, that’s correct, $1.418T/year, which is far greater than the entire discretionary budget of the federal government. The total was discounted like the California plan assuming that every penny spend on healthcare nationally is taken and applied toward the total cost, and so is reduced from the total annual cost of $2.836T.

These are mind-blowingly large numbers that would collapse the national economy, and bankrupt the country.

Note: We are already approaching $20T in debt, and rapidly climbing. A socialized medical plan thrown on top of the current federal budget would be like throwing a drowning man an anchor.

The bottom line: Democrat healthcare plans, like the New Deal which gave us $20T in debt, bankrupts the country.

Did The Parties Switch Sides?

The Claim:

Blacks switched from Supporting the Republican Party to Supporting the Democrat Party immediately after passage of the 1965 Civil Rights Act.

Why?

Because Immediately After Voting on the CRA of 1965, Civil Rights Republicans became Democrats, and historically racist Democrats became Republicans. Blacks responded, running from the racists.

The Facts

The black community did not switch to voting for democrats after 1965. They switched in the 1930s, 30 years earlier. The first Democrat presidential candidate to receive a majority of the black vote was FDR in 1936.

“From 1865 to 1936…approximately 90 percent of blacks voted Republican and only 10% voted Democratic.”

“By 1936, 75 percent of blacks became Democrats. This trend has only continued since then…” Hillary’s America

Elected Officials:

The Facts Of Politicians Switching Parties Post 1965.

All total, 126 Congressmen voted NO, only 4 switched parties, 96.8% DID NOT.

  • 21 Democrat Senators Voted Against the CRA of 1964, Only 1 Switched Parties
  • 46 Democrat Senators Voted For the CRA of 1964, NONE Switched Parties
  • 6 Republican Senators Voted Against the CRA of 1964, NONE Switched Parties
  • 27 Republican Senators Voted For the CRA of 1964, NONE Switched Parties

NOTE: Republican Senators voted in favor of the CRA of 1964 in greater percentages than Democrats did (81.8% vs 68.7%). Republican Senators also broke the Democrat Party’s 75 Day filibuster of the CRA.

  • 94 Democrat Congressmen Voted Against the CRA of 1964, Only 4 Switched Parties
  • 35 Republican Congressmen Voted Against the CRA of 1964, NONE Switched Parties
  • 136 Republican Congressmen Voted For the CRA of 1964, Only 3 Switched Parties: Two became Democrats, One became an Independent. 98.8% Remained Republicans.
    • Far from leaving the party, some also became national leaders within the Republican Party (Donald Rumsfeld, Gerald Ford, Robert Dole).

A much more comprehensive list solidifies the fact that that parties did not switch. Dinesh D’Sousa, in his movie Hillary’s America, details a list of 1600 racist democrats including:

  • Leaders of the KKK
  • Leaders of other racist groups
  • Democrat Congressmen from 1860-2000
  • Democrat Senators from 1860-2000
  • Democrat Senators and Congressmen who voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964

The total that switched parties to become Republicans…

only 14 out of 1600, less than 1%.

1 “Lynching had become so common in the United States, especially in the South, that in 1921 Representative L. C. Dyer of Missouri introduced a bill in the House of Representatives to make lynching a federal crime.

Dyer acted out of conscience but also at the strong behest of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The bill passed the House, but Southerners in the Senate organized a filibuster that prevented a vote, resulting in the measure’s failure and leaving the states to deal with the lynching problem.”

NOTE: NAACP website (quote above) discusses the anti-lynching bill, but fails to mention the party (Republican) that passed it, or the party (Democrat) that stopped it in the Senate. The truth about the parties is clear!

2 “Democratic Convention of 1924, known to history as the “Klanbake.”

The 103-ballot convention was held in Madison Square Garden. Hundreds of delegates were members of the Ku Klux Klan, the Klan so powerful (within the Democrat Party) that a plank condemning Klan violence was defeated outright.

To celebrate, the Klan staged a rally with 10,000-hooded Klansmen in a field in New Jersey directly across the Hudson from the site of the convention. Attended by hundreds of cheering convention delegates, the rally featured burning crosses and calls for violence against African-Americans and Catholics.”

October 3, 1924 Republicans denounce three-time Democrat presidential nominee William Jennings Bryan for defending the Ku Klux Klan at 1924 Democratic National Convention”

Cover Page of 1923 Rosewood, Florida Violence Report, published 22 Dec 1993.

“The Rosewood Massacre was a violent, racially motivated massacre of blacks and destruction of a black town that took place during the first week of January 1923 in rural Levy County, Florida. At least six blacks and two whites were killed, and the town of Rosewood was abandoned and destroyed in what contemporary news reports characterized as a race riot.”

The Rosewood Massacre is almost certainly another example of racist democrats attacking blacks in the south. There is absolutely NO mention in the Rosewood Report of political parties. It is sadly typical of the historical whitewashing going on in America today. A lengthy search of the internet could not find the political parties of any of the known people involved, such as Sheriff Robert Alias Walker.

The Klan, the militant arm of the democrat party, was immensely powerful in Florida during this period, as it was throughout the southern states. The Klan’s revival ignited by President Woodrow Wilson. Reports show that many klan members were present during the massacre.

Given the Democrat Party’s “Klanbake” which occurred a year later, there is little doubt that the “white people” mentioned in the report were democrats, as they were during the Wilmington Race Riot.

Typical comments from the report, which show the lengths the authors went to avoid showing the party affiliations of those culpable, and to place the blame on “America” in general:

  • “The failure of elected white officials to take forceful actions to protect the safety and property of local black residents was part of a pattern in the state and throughout the region.
  • Local and state officials failed to intervene to protect black citizens, and in each incident several innocent blacks were killed and their property destroyed. The same was true in other southern states where rape and black resistance were not tolerated by white residents and were seen as a legitimate excuse to abandon the law in favor of brute force.
  • Pleas from citizens and their spokesmen fell on deaf ears, and Florida’s white leadership responded to the civil and racial unrest only when it threatened to jeopardize the state’s economic advancement.
  • Like the racial violence innumerous other communities throughout Florida and the South during this era, Rosewood was a tragedy of American democracy and the American legal system.”

1933 – Up to this year, every single black member of the US Congress was Republican.

1930s – Two major events occurred that change the allegiance of most blacks in America from Republican to Democrat (the Great Depression, and the New Deal, which served as the newest Democrat enslavement program). By the end of the 1930, the vast majority had switched parties.

  • This occurred long before the “Dixicrats” rose up, and returned to the Democrat Party, or the Democrat party’s 1965 Civil Rights Act filibuster.

1937 – FDR (Democrat) rams through Senator Hugo Black’s (D) Alabama SCOTUS nomination in only a few days before any vetting could occur.

1) The Wilmington “Race Riot” of 1898 – A Democrat Party mob attacked an African American owned newspaper, burning it to the ground and killing at least 14 and possible up to 60. Many high profile black leaders fled the city, along with many whites, over 2,100 in all. No repercussions came to the democrats.

1898 Wilmington Race Riot Commission Final Report 31 May, 2006

Democrat Party in North Carolina perpetrated “the only confirmed coup d’etat in American history, when Democrats forced the lawfully elected Republican leaders of Wilmington, North Carolina, (Republican mayor, Board of Aldermen, and Chief of Police) out of office at gun-point.” This was an attack on the US Constitution. Wrong on Race

This report should show that the riot was not an isolated, spontaneous, incident but the result of a series of events that were directed and planned by upper class white businessmen in order to regain control of government and that Wilmington should not be viewed as existing in a vacuum. It was part of a larger campaign to take over state government in 1898. Democratic Party strategists thrust the city into the spotlight as an example of Republican corruption and bad government because of the participation of African Americans in local politics.

Organizers of the coup instituted a banishment campaign, targeting political opponents, black and white, leading to the expulsion from the city of over twenty targeted individuals and a mass exodus of over 2,100 others. Consequently, the Republican power base in Wilmington was destroyed.”

NOTE: The Democrats took control of the NC General Assembly in 1899 and Governor in 1901. Largely due to disenfranchising black voters, the Democrat Party dominated NC politics for the next 70 years.

Virginia Constitution:

Jun 12, 1901 – June 26, 1902 – “An elected body of 100 delegates, including 11 Republicans and 1 independent, convenes in Richmond for a constitutional convention, and debates for almost a year.

July 10, 1902 – Virginia’s Constitution of 1902 becomes law, disfranchising thousands of poor whites and nearly eliminating the state’s African-American electorate. It replaces Virginia’s 1869 Reconstruction-era constitution, which had a universal male suffrage clause. The 1902 Constitution created a new legal enforcement of Jim Crow and further solidified its social enforcement.

November 7, 1905 Largely because of the voting restrictions implemented by the Constitution of 1902, 88,000 fewer ballots are cast in the gubernatorial election than in the previous election in 1901.

July, 1971 The Constitution of 1971 becomes law and ends the rules and regulations instituted by the Constitution of 1902.”

Is this racist history behind Democrat Party hysteria that voter ID laws would cause blacks to lose the right to vote? Is this a justified case of Democrat Party “White Guilt”?

The Real Reason Trump Was Investigated for Russian Ties

Hillary Clinton Delivering Campaign Speech

My hypothesis as to why President Trump was investigated for Russian ties is at least as plausible, and likely far more plausible, than the Democrat Party’s Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy. The Democrat Party is on a crusade to destroy Donald Trump’s Presidency. So far, an 8+ month investigation has returned exactly zero evidence that Donald Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russian government to defeat Hillary Clinton.

Note: There are no claims that the grossly embarrassing information exposed by the DNC server hack and John Podesta’s emails was faked.

The Democrat Party is well known for the tactic of going on the Offensive by charging opponents with accusations that they themselves are guilty of. They are quick to tar and feather the Republican Party and every member in it as racist supporters of the Ku Klux Klan working to bring back Jim Crow Laws for example. Of course the truth is that the Klan was the militant arm of the Democrat Party, and it was Democrats who invented and employed Jim Crow Laws. History shows that Republicans were the Party that fought the Klan and Jim Crow Laws.

It’s also well known that in campaigns the truth doesn’t always matter. October surprises often have some measure of truth, but their real intent is to quickly damage one’s opponent in the run up to Election Day. The election ends before the full truth gets out.

It’s with these two thoughts as background that I hypothesize that the investigation into Donald Trump and his campaign’s alleged ties to Russia was in fact:

  1. A weaponization of the United States intelligence agencies and
  2. Their use in opposition research for Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Why? Remember, the book Clinton Cash clearly detailed Hillary and Bill Clinton’s ties to the Russian Government and Vladimir Putin. Bill Clinton was given over $700,000 for a speech that he gave in Russia. There were very clear ties between Hillary and Bill to wealthy Russian oligarchs.

Infographic Highlighting Corruption From Clinton Cash

Select Examples From “Clinton Cash” Exposing Hillary and Bill Clinton’s Scheme to Enrich Themselves And Their Foundation

Clinton Cash details the connections between the Clintons and Russian front companies in the sale of 20% of US uranium mines to the Russians. Clinton Cash also details how nine investors connected with the sale donated $145 Million to the Clinton foundation.

Hillary Clinton had no defense against these revelations. They were well documented and damning. Her campaign had to be concerned about her connections to Russia and Putin and her role as SECSTATE in moving the sale forward, so they needed a strategy to deal with it. Beyond ignoring the scandal, it’s likely that Hillary’s best strategy for blunting the impact of this bombshell was to have counter charges ready to go against Donald Trump.

Going on the Offensive against Trumps campaign might buy her enough time to get her safely through the election. In order to orchestrate an attack against Trump, Hillary’s political machine required a portfolio of evidence stockpiled and disseminated within Democratic operatives to be used at the moment of greatest need.

Unfortunately, the Russian connections to Clinton never became a significant issue during the election, despite its explosive nature. Clearly the Democrat Party and the minion media were completely convinced that Hillary Clinton was going to win the election, and so the blitzkrieg counterattack against Donald Trump and his campaign was never used.

Hillary Clintons campaign and the Democrat Party were shocked the night of 8 November, and Trumps win demanded an explanation. The Democrat rank and file was enraged, since the minion media convinced them Hillary was going to win in a landslide. From their perspective it wasn’t possible that Trump could’ve beaten her fair and square.

The Democrat Party/Minion Media conspiracy that came out was the unspent Opposition Research round that Donald Trumps campaign had ties to the Russians. In the end this witch-hunt will find nothing because there was nothing to it, and there never was intended to be anything of substance in it. The intent was merely to distract the American voter long enough to get Hillary across the finish line.

Further evidence as to my contention that ties to Russians and their impact on America’s elections really have nothing to do with this story is the clear evidence that no one is asking about Hillary Clinton’s ties to the Russians and what influence or leverage they may have had over her, had she become President. The fact that this is a one-way story, completely surrounding Donald Trump and his campaign, proves that facts really didn’t matter.

Update:

“The president’s legal team said Saturday they believe the entire meeting may have been part of a larger election-year opposition effort aimed at creating the appearance of improper connections between Trump family members and Russia that also included a now-discredited intelligence dossier produced by a former British intelligence agent named Christopher Steele who worked for a U.S. political firm known as Fusion GPS.”

Margaret Sanger, Democrat Party Icon

Picture of Margaret Sanger, 1957

Margaret Sanger, 1957 From Mike Wallace Interview

The left lionizes Margaret Sanger. She is so revered that Planned Parenthood gives out an award bearing her name, and it was won by Hillary Clinton in 2009. Hillary said of Sanger:

“I admire Margaret Sanger enormously her courage, her tenacity, her vision . . . And when I think about what she did all those years ago in Brooklyn, taking on archetypes, taking on attitudes and accusations flowing from all directions, I am really in awe of her.” Read more

Margaret Sanger is worthy of study, as she ironically gave birth to “birth control” in the United States, and its become a cornerstone of the progressive democratic agenda. Planned Parenthood, which Sanger founded, holds tremendous power within the Democrat Party, and as shown above, is idolized. But is Sanger worthy of such admiration, or is she worthy of condemnation?

What were her thoughts, teachings, deeds and who were her friends and close associates? Answering these questions should solve the Sanger riddle.

What is her Democrat Party Connection?

Sanger founded and edited The Birth Control Review from its inception until 1929. Under her leadership, the magazine featured articles that embraced the eugenicist position.

Founded Planned Parenthood and one of the Founding Foremothers of the Progressive Movement. 1

What did Sanger Teach?

“…woman has, through her reproductive ability, founded and perpetuated the tyrannies of the Earth.” 2

“War, famine, poverty and oppression of the workers…will cease only when she limits her reproductivity and human life is no longer a thing to be wasted.” 2

“THE MOST serious evil of our times is that of encouraging the bringing into the world of large families…prostitution, the oppression of labor, child labor, or war…The large family is the one thing necessary to the perpetuation of these and other evils and is therefore a greater evil than any one of them.” 2

“The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.” 2

“We want a world freer, happier, cleaner we want a race of thoroughbreds.” 3

“We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members” 4

“The effort toward racial progress that is being made to-day…is practically wasted…the fact that the ever increasing tide of the unfit is overwhelming all that these agencies are doing for society. They will continue to mark time until they get at the source of these destructive conditions and apply a fundamental remedy. That remedy is birth control.” 2

“Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives.” 2

“The main objects of the Population Congress would be to apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring[;] to give certain dysgenic groups in our population their choice of segregation or sterilization.” 5

“Prevent useless people from ever existing through “birth control”, controlling who gets the right to be born” 1

“Eugenics without birth control seems to us a house builded upon the sands. It is at the mercy of the rising stream of the unfit.” 6

“While I personally believe in the sterilization (Note: Sanger advocated for “forced sterilization”) of the feeble-minded, the insane and syphilitic, I have not been able to discover that these measures are more than superficial deterrents when applied to the constantly growing stream of the unfit. They are excellent means of meeting a certain phase of the situation, but I believe in regard to these, as in regard to other eugenic means, that they do not go to the bottom of the matter.” 6

Under her leadership, the magazine (Birth Control Review) featured articles that embraced the eugenicist position. If Sanger were as anti-eugenics as Planned Parenthood says she was, she would not have printed as many articles sympathetic to eugenics as she did.”

“The statistics indicate at any rate a surprisingly low rate of intelligence among the classes in which large families and uncontrolled procreation predominate. Those of the lowest grade in intelligence are born of unskilled laborers (with the highest birth rate in the community); the next high among the skilled laborers, and so on to the families of professional people” 7

Was Margaret Sanger a racist?

“Spoke at women’s branch of Ku Klux Klan rally in 1926 in Silver Lake, N.J., getting numerous invitations to speak at other smaller groups” 8

Sanger’s ties to the Eugenics Movement were extensive”

“The first and main point is to secure the general intellectual acceptance of Eugenics as a hopeful and most important study. Then, let its principles work into the heart of the nation” 7

“society at large is breeding an ever-increasing army of under-sized, stunted and dehumanized slaves” 7

“By education, by persuasion, by appeals to racial ethics and religious motives, the ardent Eugenist hopes to increase the fertility of the “fit.”…These stocks, he says, are to be found chiefly among the skilled artisan class, the intelligent working class.” 7

“Birth Control which has been criticized as negative and destructive, is really the greatest and most truly eugenic method” 7

“Throughout its 284 pages (reference to Sanger’s 1922 book The Pivot Of Civilization), Margaret unashamedly called for the elimination of “human weeds,” for the cessation of charity, for the segregation of “morons, misfits, and the maladjusted” and for the sterilization of “genetically inferior races.” 9

Margaret Sanger’s Racist Friends and Associates: you are known by the company that you keep! Here are a few:

Hans Harmsen “Hans Harmsen, a German physician, was an important scientific and academic supporter of Nazi policies in the 1930s and 1940s, such as the inhumane 1933 sterilization law that mandated coercion.”

“Harmsen became the president of Pro Familia, the German affiliate of Sangers’ International Planned Parenthood Federation, in 1952.”

Harry Laughlin“The logical conclusion is that the differences in institutional rations, by races and nativity groups represents real differences in social values, which represent, in turn, real differences in the inborn values of the family stocks from which the particular inmates have sprung. These degeneracies and hereditary handicaps are inherent in the blood.”

“He promoted Nazism during the 1930s, approving of its racist laws.”

Lothrop Stoddard“A famous racist whom Margaret Sanger actively engaged to work with her organizations.”

Clarence Gamble“Gamble was a racist and ardent eugenicist. He was actively involved in the eugenic sterilization group, Birthright (later the Human Betterment Association), and opened more than twenty eugenic sterilization clinics in the Midwest and the South.”

Guy Irving Burch“…he wrote that he had worked to prevent sound American stock from being replaced by alien or negro stock, whether it be by immigration or by overly high birth rates among others in this country.”

Margaret Sangers’ legacy of Eugenics and “purifying the American gene pool”.

79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of black or Hispanic communities.”

“Between 2007 and 2010, nearly 36 percent of all abortions in the United States were performed on black children, even though black Americans make up only 13 percent of our population. A further 21 percent of abortions were performed on Hispanics, and 7 percent more on other minority groups, for a total of 64 percent of U.S. abortions tragically performed on minority groups” 10

What Sanger promoted in “Birth Control” and what we think of “Birth Control” today are different things. She did promote contraception, and abortions, but she also advocated for forced sterilizations and eugenics, both of which would be considered heinous acts today, even crimes against humanity.

If Margaret Sanger did not fully believe in and support eugenics, then why did she print so many articles about it in her magazine The Birth Control Review, and associate with so many others who tried to institutionalize it?

Answering the question about Margaret Sanger creates an ever bigger question, why is she so loved by the Democrat Party?

Tragic Fact:

Today, 500,000 unborn black babies die a year. The most dangerous place for a black child today is in the womb of its own mother.

The Child has a 50% chance of living or dying.” 11

The true history of Civil Rights in America is being buried: As evidence, note the US House of Representatives own History link to “Civil Rights”. It ignores the first Civil Rights Era and the first 110 years of history jumping straight to 1964. Americans need to understand our complete history of civil rights, the Democratic Party’s dark role, and the Republican Party’s civil rights fight begun at its birth in 1854.

US House History Page, incorrectly begins Civil Rights in 1964, ignoring the first 110 years.

Further evidence of how the Democrat Party’s Racist History has been buried. The following quote if from a AP US History Website, which posts definitions of APUSH terms. For the KKK, the site teaches:

“Deeply embittered, some Southern whites resorted to savage measures against “radical” rule. Many whites resented the success and ability of black legislators as much as they resented alleged “corruption.” A number of secret organizations mushroomed forth, the most notorious of which was the “Invisible Empire of the South,” or the ____, founded in Tennessee in 1866. They would approach the cabin of an “upstart” black and hammer on the door. In ghoulish tones one thirsty horseman would demand a bucket of water. Then, under pretense of drinking, he would pour it into a rubber attachment concealed beneath his mask and gown, smack his lips, and declare that this was the first water he had tasted since he was killed at the Battle of Shiloh. If fright did not produce the desired effect, force was employed.”

Where is the truth of who these “Southern Whites” were? They were the militant arm of the Democrat Party!

The strongest example of the Democrat Party’s historical whitewash is shown in the 2010 screenshot from their Party’s website. The site has since been rewritten.

According to Dinesh D’Souza’s Hillary’s America:

+Democrat Party’s Heritage:

  • Oppression of Blacks/American Indians
    • Stole land from Indians and labor from Blacks
  • Since 1930s (Progressive Era), established modern plantations in the inner cities, added immigrants to the mix
  • Developed confiscatory/progressive taxation system, now taking something from everybody. Don’t forget the democrat driven tax rates of 80-90%. End state, take everything from everyone, distribute as they see fit.
  • From slavery through modern progressivism, Democrats have always stolen the fruits of peoples labor. Now, working to enslave Americans to the all powerful progressive state.
  • Party of deceit, lawlessness.
  • Modern Democrats contort our Nations Birth and our Constitution to denigrate America’s founding, and cover the racist history/nature of their party.

+Republican Party’s Heritage:

  • From its birth in 1854 was the Party of anti-slavery (which ended slavery), and inherited the ideals of the American Revolution (the revolutionary tradition)
    • Conserving the promises of liberty, freedom (political/economic/thought and religion), personal responsibility, justice (justice of rights (equality under the law), economic allocation i.e. free market capitalism).
  • Republicans always stood for letting people keep what they produce and earn.
  • Republicans have always been the party of women’s rights and minority rights.

*Dred Scott: Dred Scott v Sanford, 60 U.S. 393 (1857) is universally considered the worst decision in the history of the Supreme Court’s. In 1857, a Democratic Party Dominated Supreme Court (7 Democrats vs 2 Republicans) handed down the infamous Dred Scott decision (7 to 2, all Democrats in the Majority), declaring that blacks were not persons or citizens but instead were property and therefore had no rights. Both Republican Justices (Justice John McLean and Justice Benjamin Curtis) opposed the majority and voted in favor of Dred Scott, an enslaved man, and his “God-given rights”.

1 13th Amendment Vote Counts:

  • House: Republicans (86 Yea, 0 Nay); Democrats (50 Nay, 14 Yea, 8 Not Voting);
  • Senate: Republicans (31 Yea, 0 Nay); Democrats (5 Nay, 2 Yea, 3 Not Voting)

NOTE: In 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth. President Lincoln’s Vice President and successor was Democrat Andrew Johnson.

15th Amendment Vote Counts:

  • House: Republicans (144Yea, 4 Nay, 27 Not Voting); Democrats (39 Nay, 0 Yea, 8 Not Voting);
  • Senate: Republicans (31 Yea, 0 Nay, 13 Not Voting); Democrats (8 Nay, 0 Yea, 1 Not Voting)

2 Black Codes: Furious over Republican passage of the constitutional amendments and civil rights legislation, southern democrats passed the infamous “Black Codes” (1865-1866).

Examples of Black Codes common throughout the south:

  • Restricted professions blacks could work in, allowed white masters to whip black servants
  • Restricted rights to own property, buy or lease land, and to conduct business
  • Restricted where blacks could travel, could be imprisoned if caught
  • Blacks restricted from juries, nor could they vote
  • Many crimes carried the death penalty for blacks, but not for whites
  • Testimony in court not admissible except against other blacks
  • Had to carry proof that they were working (labor contract or government license) or face arrest
  • Blacks could not leave their employers
  • Blacks could not possess knives, firearms or liquor

3 Civil Rights Act of 1866:

“An Act to protect all Persons in the United States in their Civil Rights, and furnish the Means of their Vindication.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,That all persons born in the United States and not subject to any foreign power, excluding Indians not taxed, are hereby declared to be citizens of the United States; and such citizens, of every race and color, without regard to any previous condition of slavery or involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall have the same right, in every State and Territory in the United States, to make and enforce contracts, to sue, be parties, and give evidence, to inherit, purchase, lease, sell, hold, and convey real and personal property, and to full and equal benefit of all laws and proceedings for the security of person and property, as is enjoyed by white citizens, and shall be subject to like punishment, pains, and penalties, and to none other, any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, to the contrary notwithstanding.”

*New Orleans Riot/Massacre: 30 July,1866 – In Democrat controlled City of New Orleans KKK, supported by police and firemen storm and attack the racially-integrated Republican convention in New Orleans. “Federal troops were called in to stop the violence but by the time they arrived the mayhem had run its course. Official reports from the massacre, one of the bloodiest riots of the Reconstruction era in the United States, listed 37 persons (34 black and 3 white Radicals a term for anti-slavery republicans) killed and 146 wounded. Contemporary witnesses believed the numbers to be much higher.” World Library, Louisiana State Museum, Free Republic

“The Committee of Congress appointed to investigate the riot in New Orleans on July 30, 1866, have lately presented a report, giving a full history of the tragedy. It is shown by that record that the riotous attack upon the Republican Convention, with its terrible results of massacre and murder, was planned and executed by the Mayor of New Orleans, and that it had the countenance of President Johnson, without which it would never have taken place.” Harper’s Weekly

Assassination: 1868 – Republican U.S. Representative James Hinds (R-AR), a strong supporter of reconstruction, was assassinate by the KKK, and state Representative Joseph Brook was seriously wounded. The assassin was George A. Clark (D), Secretary of the Democratic Committee of Monroe County, AR who shot Hinds in the back with a shotgun.” Clark was never arrested or prosecuted. Congressman Hinds was the highest ranking government official to be killed during reconstruction.

*Freedman’s Bureau: 1865-1872, a US Federal Agency within the War Department established by President Lincoln, supported by Republicans in Congress to Force Southern States to Comply with newly enacted freedoms for blacks during the Reconstruction era.

Justice Department: 1870, Established by Republican President Ulysses S. Grant to fight the Democrat Party’s KKK.

1st Black Senator: 1870, The Reverend Hiram Revels from Mississippi becomes the first person of color elected to the Senate, and he was a Republican.

2nd Black Senator: 1875, Blanche K. Bruce from Mississippi becomes the second person of color elected to the Senate, and he was a Republican.

NOTE: No other person of color was elected to the senate until 1967, when Edward Brooks, another Republican, was elected from Massachusetts.

  • This is Part III of my analysis of the 2016 Presidential Election through the lens of the Principles of War:(Definitions of each Principle)

Trumps Victory And The Principles of War: Part I

Trump’s Victory And The Principles of War: Part II

  • Simplicity: The more moving parts a campaign or operation has, the more likely something will break down and compromise the outcome. Donald Trump’s campaign was as simple as it could get, from his message to his operations, and broke the mold on how to wage successful presidential campaigns. Compared to Hilary, and his main GOP primary contenders, Trump spent less money, hired far fewer people in his campaign, and manned far fewer statewide victory offices. Trump did not pull out of campaigning to spend weeks plotting his responses to debate questions, holding mock debates where every possible response could be scripted and poll tested like Hillary did. He relied on simplicity, where he went out and talked directly to the American people, in person and through social media. Trump had only a few key surrogates, like Kelly Ann Conway and Newt Gingrich, who engaged the Minion Media directly, and that kept his message tight and consistent.

Trump relied on key paid campaign staff, volunteers and local GOP Party support for his simple election day operations, and they combined their efforts to defeat what was supposed to be the most vaunted political machine in history. Trump’s faith in his supporters getting out votes for him, was the epitome of Simplicity, and decentralized execution.

Hillary’s campaign was the polar opposite of Trump’s. Her campaign was a big money, high personnel, high spending, “Minion Media” colluding and intimidating effort that failed to see or believe the inroads Trump’s campaign was making in the “Blue Firewall” and traditional democrat voters. Hillary’s message was convoluted, complex, and failed to connect with voters outside of the progressive coasts.

Joint Principals (added post 911):

  • Restraint: Democrats are known for going for the throat, and Hillary was anything but restrained. She claimed the High Road but evidence such as the Wikileaks dump of her campaign manager John Podesta’s emails clearly showed they played dirty, including colluding with the media to get debate questions, and plotting with the DNC on how to rig the primaries against Bernie Sanders. In the general, her claims of racism and bigotry were nothing but a transparent effort to use identity politics to destroy the GOP candidate. Thankfully, Trump did not unduly restrain himself, and Hillary’s campaign had difficulty dealing with him as a result.

The Allies did not win WWII by using restraint. Fire bombings of German cites like Dresden or the bombing of Hiroshima were not example of restraint. Given that, Donald Trumps campaign was not an example of restraint. Previous Republican like McCain and Romney lost because they were grossly restrained. Republican voters were looking for a candidate to take the fight to democrats, and they elected Trump.

  • Perseverance: Trump clearly followed this Principle. He never retreated, never backed down, never slowed down, and never quit despite calls from media pundits through out the campaign that he was just in it for the publicity, to start a media company, as a fake to help Hillary, and other fake news motivations. In addition, Donald Trump was assailed by more negative press, accusations of racism, sexism, Islamophobia and bigotry than any successful candidate ever. Most others would have wilted under the assault, but Trump persevered and won.

Hillary on the other hand showed a lack of perseverance. She was ill, sat out the campaign for days at a time, and held a very light campaign schedule compared to Trumps. She did outlast her illicit home-brew email server scandal, but it eroded her already poor credibility. Hillary’s lifetime of baggage, combined with her server, the Clinton Foundation FBI investigation and the Wikileaks exposure finally did her in.

  • Legitimacy: As far as we know, both campaigns operated within the legal rules. Hillary morally acted outside those bounds by accepting debate questions and engaging in media collusion and DNC favoritism during the primaries. Cries of Trump not accepting potential election results gave way to Hillary and democrats not accepting the actual election results crying (illegitimate Russian intervention). Ironically, America depends upon the peaceful transfer of power from legitimate president to another. Democrats are out to delegitimize Donald Trumps presidency, and risk anarchy in the process.
